Celebrate the Red Grooms World!
Sunday, February 10   12 noon – 5 pm

The colorful and whimsical world of Pop Artist Red Grooms is the inspiration for an afternoon of art and music for all ages at the Hudson River Museum on Sunday, February 10. The Hudson River Museum celebrates the opening of Pop Artist Red Grooms’ exhibition In the Studio and his famous sculpture The Bookstore, newly restored, from 12 noon to 5 pm with music, art, and curator tours.

Red Grooms Exhibitions February 9 – May 25, 2008
Red Grooms appears at the Hudson River Museum with a reinstallation of The Bookstore, restored with the artist’s vision, and a new exhibition –In the Studio-- on view from February 9 through May 25. In the Studio, a large-scale exhibition highlights Grooms’ colorful preparatory models and other works never before seen in public from the Pop Artist’s  private archive.  The Bookstore, was created for the Hudson River Museum and since its unveiling on March 10, 1979, it has been a cherished artistic landmark in Westchester. Red Grooms: In the Studio was made possible, in part, through the support of the Westchester County Executive and the Westchester County Board of Legislators.

The Hudson River Museum is located at 511 Warburton Avenue, Yonkers NY. Minutes from the Saw Mill River Parkway, exit 9, north or southbound. Information and directions: 914.963.4550 and www.hrm.org. Wed - Sun 12- 5 pm. Fridays 12-8 pm. Admission: Adults $5; Seniors 62 & older and youth 5-16 $3. Fridays 5 to 8 pm free.
