Family Studio: Science (March) – Cancelled

Saturday, 1–4pm

Greene Education Center

This workshop is cancelled.

One is blue, the other is green. One was invented in 1839, the other has been around for more than a billion years. Both silicon solar cells and the leaves of plants redirect the energy of sunlight, using it to produce electrical current or to trap that energy in simple sugars.

In this month’s Family Studio: Science workshop, experiment with solar photovoltaics (the branch of technology concerned with the production of electric current at the junction of two substances) and make a colorful model of leaf anatomy to bring home.
