Afro Dominicano (Amphitheater 2025)

Afro Dominicano is a Latin fusion indie band playing “Afro Caribbean soul,” a blending of traditional folkloric roots music from the Dominican Republic with Afrobeats, reggae, calypso, samba, funk, punk rock, and other Caribbean rhythms. Their exciting sound is composed of vocals, accordion, guitar, bass, drums, conga, güira, and tambora.

Afro Dominicano has performed at Chelsea Music Hall, Central Park, Afribembé Festival, Joe’s Pub, Lincoln Center, Musikfest, and Hispanic Festival (PA). They won the Music Hall of Williamsburg Battle of the Bands and Latin Night at Citi Field. The band was also among the top three finalists of the Riders’ Choice Award for the WE ♡ NYC in 2023, and performed at the 48th Annual Folk Festival in Ann Arbor, MI.
