Throughout the day, enjoy art and science workshops for all ages, dance to DJ Delon, and purchase delicious soul food by Sistah Gurls Catering. Join programs inspired by the Black Arts Movement of the 1960s and 70s, and celebrate the cultural accomplishments of African Americans across a variety of media. Enjoy FREE general admission as part of Yonkers Arts Weekend! (*Please note, general admission does not include planetarium tickets, which are an additional fee.)

Full Schedule of Events:

12:30–4:30pm: Family Studio: Art

12:30pm: Planetarium Show*

1–4pm: Learn how to create your own persuasive work of art in a Drop In & Draw workshop led by artist Kay Douglas.

1–4pm: Encounter pop-up readings by Junior Docents of celebrated writers and storytellers like Amiri Baraka, Nikki Giovanni, and Maya Angelou.

1:30–2:30pm: Experience African and Modern dance performances by Youth Theater Interactions that are inspired by paintings on loan from Art Bridges.

2pm: Planetarium Show*

3–4pm: Groove to 1960s and 70s Philadelphia R&B songs by Kaira.

3:30pm: Planetarium Show*

All day: Dance to DJ Delon, who plays music inspired by the Black Arts Movement.

All day: Purchase delicious soul food by Sistah Gurls Catering.
