Free First Fridays: America in Motion
Mark the 250th anniversary of the United States with America in Motion, a music and dance work by the Vanaver Caravan that explores labor, loss, and the pursuit of joy in American life. Through music and movement, the work holds the beauty, ideals, and mythos of America alongside the harsher realities that have shaped the nation.
Sing along with Vanaver Caravan musicians, watch live excerpts from America in Motion performed by the full company, and join in traditional American dances. All ages and abilities are welcome; no previous singing or dance experience is required.
5:30–6pm — Circle Singing (participatory)
6:15–7pm — America in Motion performance
7:15–8pm — Square Dance (participatory)
