Hudson River Museum to Sell Greyston Foundation Baked Goods in Museum Shop
YONKERS, NY, March 24, 2017 — The Hudson River Museum is delighted to announce we will be carrying Greyston Foundation brownies and blondies in the Museum shop beginning this Saturday, March 25, 2017. This initiative is part of a concerted effort to reach out and partner with nonprofits and other organizations throughout Westchester to bring the best offerings to our visitors.
Since 1982, Greyston has provided individuals in Yonkers with employment, skills, and resources to lift them out of poverty. Greyston’s unique Open Hiring™ Model at the world famous Greyston Bakery embraces an individual’s potential by providing employment opportunities regardless of background or work history while offering the support necessary to thrive in the workplace and in the community. The Foundation has created a thriving community, providing 2,200 individuals housing, childcare, and a workforce development program.
Greyston bakes more than 35,000 pounds of premium brownies a day for prestigious customers including Ben & Jerry’s, Whole Foods, Delta Airlines and now, the Hudson River Museum. Museum Director Masha Turchinsky states, “We are proud to be selling Greyston brownies and supporting the important work of this local business. Greyston Foundation and the Hudson River Museum are both committed to community building and quality, so it’s a perfect partnership. Plus, the brownies are delicious and our visitors will undoubtedly be delighted to find them for sale in our shop.”
“We are very happy to include the Hudson River Museum among our list of prestigious customers sharing our love of both delicious food and our mission of Open Hiring. Just like our community gardens, the Museum serves as a place of inclusion in Yonkers – a place where everyone is welcome to relax, participate, and belong. Yonkers is a better place for having such a terrific museum.” said Mike Brady, CEO and President of Greyston Foundation.
