Gentleman Brawlers
Friday, July 25, 8pm
Through a sonic blend of disco-based horn lines, sticky highlife guitar, and polyrhythms from West Africa, Trinidad, and Brazil, this Brooklyn collective’s live shows ignite a community-based, improvisational energy. Led by creative duo Becca Fox and Matt Walsh, Gentleman Brawlers channels inspiration from Talking Heads with their distinct brand of Afrofunk and indie dance music.

Omar Edwards & the New York Jazz Gypsies
Friday, August 1, 8pm
Internationally acclaimed tap dancer and griot Omar Edwards and his band, the New York Jazz Gypsies, take audiences on a journey through sound from jazz to funk and back again! The pulsating rhythms created by Edwards’s tap shoes, paired with the rich instrumentation of the ensemble—featuring keyboards, drums, percussion, and an eight-time Grammy-nominated trumpet player—create an unparalleled experience. It is the cadence and rhythm of Omar’s feet, rather than his voice, that lead guests through a range of musical genres.
