Hudson River Museum Appoints Benjamin Fletcher to Assistant Director, Finance and Administration
YONKERS, NY, July 28, 2026—The Hudson River Museum is pleased to welcome Benjamin Fletcher as our new Assistant Director, Finance and Administration. With fourteen years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Benjamin has built a career supporting mission-driven organizations through financial stewardship, operational excellence, and collaborative leadership. His experience spans finance, administration, and organizational operations, with a focus on developing sustainable processes that strengthen organizational effectiveness and support long-term growth. Benjamin succeeds Marion Freedman, who is retiring from her position as Assistant Director, Finance and Administration; she has served with distinction at the HRM for thirteen years. Also effective immediately, Cathy Dattilo has been promoted to Senior Manager, Finance.
Benjamin will serve as the lead administrator for the HRM, overseeing human resources and staff benefits, IT, the Visitor Services/Retail team, and the Senior Manager, Finance. He will be responsible for the Museum’s overall financial health, including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and long-term financial strategy. In this position, Benjamin will serve as the primary financial spokesperson and ensure the organization’s fiscal viability.
Most recently, Benjamin served as Director of Finance and Operations at the Hoboken Business Alliance, where he oversaw budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, audits, board support, and strategic planning. Prior to that he has held positions at Tempe Convention and Visitors’ Bureau, Lucas County Land Reutilization Corporation, and he brings experience in the museum field through positions at the National Museum of the Great Lakes and the Toledo Zoo.

Originally from Toledo, OH, Benjamin earned a bachelor’s degree from The University of Toledo and a master’s degree in Humanities from Tiffin University. Passionate about advancing nonprofit missions, he enjoys working collaboratively to create thoughtful, effective solutions that support both people and purpose. He is committed to helping organizations thrive and better serve their communities.
Cathy Dattilo, who has served as Manager, Finance for more than five years, will report to Benjamin Fletcher as the Senior Manager, Finance. She has been proactive in streamlining and improving processes pertaining to accounts payable, payroll, audit, grant reimbursements and reporting, and has taken on increasingly complex analyses and reconciliations. Cathy has a BS in Public Accounting from Fordham University and extensive experience as an accountant in both the public and private sectors, providing financial and internal control expertise in domestic and international business sectors. Cathy began working part-time at the HRM in 2017, transitioning to full-time in October 2021.

Museum Hours: The Hudson River Museum is open to the public Wednesday–Friday, from 12–5pm, and Saturday–Sunday, from 11am–5pm. On Free First Fridays, the Museum is open and free of charge on the first Friday of the month, from 5–8pm. The Museum is accessible by Metro-North (Hudson Line—Yonkers and Glenview stations), by Bee-Line Bus Route #1, by car, and by bike.
