Join us for this series of live planetarium programs for adults that explores big questions in space science and the latest discoveries in the cosmos. The shows will take place the first Wednesday of each month.

Wednesday, August 6 — Mega-Architecture
From prehistoric sites like Stonehenge and Chaco Canyon to monumental earth sculptures like Michael Heizer’s City and James Turrell’s Roden Crater, humans have long built structures and created artworks to track the skies and reflect on our place in the cosmos. Journey through these awe-inspiring sites under the planetarium dome as we explore solar alignments, astronomical phenomena, and how our ancestors carved calendars into stone.

Wednesday, September 3 — Images of Space
How real are the dazzling images of nebulae, planets, and stars captured by the Hubble Space Telescope and the James Webb Space Telescope? These striking photographs appear everywhere—from dorm room walls to phone cases and holiday sweaters. While their brilliant colors may not reflect what the human eye would see, they serve a powerful purpose. This month, uncover how “beauty is what beauty does” when it comes to astronomical images.

Recommended for ages 18+; 60-minute show plus Q&A. Advance reservations are encouraged.
