Fairy tales, King Arthur’s Guinevere, geometric patterns—the tiles on view in the Museum’s historic home, Glenview, feature a range of subjects and appeal to fans of both ceramics and romantic stories. Join Laura Vookles, Chair of the Curatorial Department, and Victoria McKenna-Ratjen, Curatorial Assistant, for a virtual tour of these original designs, from the encaustic floor tiles by Maw, to the fireplace tiles by Cottier, to a series designed by J. Moyr Smith for Minton. Find out more about how different kinds of tiles are made and how the designs by these prominent British artists and companies found their way to a house in Yonkers.

This live Zoom event will also be streamed on Facebook Live.
