Morning Stroller and Sibling Tour
Beat the crowds and enjoy a stroller-friendly tour before the Museum opens! This monthly program, designed for our youngest visitors (0–2 years) and their older toddler-aged siblings, offers an intimate exploration of works in our exhibitions. Held every second Friday of the month, each session begins with a brief gallery conversation, followed by a playful activity such as storytime, art-making, puppetry, music and song, movement, or water play, led by storyteller and puppeteer Sarah Provost.
In August, inspired by Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun’s Untitled (Tree Prototype) on view in Smoke in Our Hair: Native Memory and Unsettled Time, we’ll explore the theme of trees through a nature sensory box and by foraging in the environment to create a leaf collage.
In September, we’ll explore the theme of environmentalism by looking at sailboats on the Hudson River as captured by photographer Joseph Squillante in Clearwater Bow and Libertad, on view in Lens on the Hudson. We’ll get our hands wet through water play and ask, “Does it float?”
Capacity is limited; advance registration is recommended.
