This week, look for a young, ultra-thin crescent moon in the evening sky. Do you know what’s so special about this particular crescent moon? Tune in to find out! Recommended for ages 8+.

Then, join Marc Taylor, Planetarium and Science Program Manager, in an accompanying Facebook Live astronomy event on Friday, April 24 at 4pm, and bring your observations and questions. For example:

  • Can you ever see the night-time side of the Moon?
  • Is the night-time side the same as the far side?
  • What is a “Supermoon,” anyway?

Visit our Museum from Home page for more activities, including new Awesome Astronomy videos every other week, and check our calendar for upcoming virtual events.
