Embracing Imperfection: Wabi-sabi on the Hudson

Please note, due to inclement weather on Sunday, July 16, this event is postponed and will take place on Sunday, July 23, 1–4pm. Spend the afternoon with cone9colab, a collective of artists who embrace the philosophy of wabi-sabi, a traditional Japanese aesthetic that is sometimes described as the beauty that is “imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete.”

Artist Workshop: Cosmic Energy

In this hands-on workshop, arrange paint, paper, and repurposed materials to create a collage of overlapping circles, squares, and triangles. Take inspiration from works by Arlé Sklar-Weinstein and Richard Joseph Anuszkiewicz, on view in Order / Reorder: Experiments with Collections, to create an intuitive expression of your own cosmic energy. Led by Teaching Artist-in-Residence Natalya Khorover.
