Korean Jindo Drum Dance: Jindo Buk Nori
The New York Korean Performing Arts Center presents a dynamic drum dance that originated in the region of Jindo, an island located at the southernmost tip of the Korean peninsula. In Jindo Buk Nori, janggu (hour-glass shaped drum) techniques are realized by a drummer/dancer on the buk (barrel drum), which is strapped around the waist.
