Join artist Antony Zito in painting along with the strains of jazz that infused the era of Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner, whose 1957 painting Re-Echo, is featured in Cycles of Nature. Interpret this music in color and form with Zito, collaborating on a large-scale abstract painting, and also create your own interpretations on smaller canvases. To demonstrate the gestural process and techniques of “action painting”—visual improvisation in response to music—the artist will move around a large canvas on the ground to the rhythms of powerful and spontaneous jazz from the classic New Orleans pioneers, to swing bands, blues bards, and Billie Holiday.

This event has been moved indoors due to the extreme heat. Masks are required indoors at all times.
