Mason Webb’s Instrument No. 2, featured in Order / Reorder, is a kinetic, sculptural still life that merges textile with sound. Over the course of two hours, along with special guests, Webb will perform his symphonic piece in the galleries, discuss his practice, and enable visitors to get a close-up view of the instrument. For this performance, the artist will be joined by three string musicians:

Lee Hodel (b. Los Angeles, 1989) is a bassist, composer, and improvisor based in New York. His work explores the relationships of tuning, timbre, and physicality. He has performed with Marilyn Crispell, Vinny Golia, and Kevin Robinson, among others.

John Henry (b. New York, 1982) is a bassist, composer, and improvisor based in New York. His work explores pushing the limit of note structure in Harmonics.

Duke Taylor (b. Ohio 1990) is a guitarist, composer, singer, and poet. Currently, his work has been developing a project called Holy Wisdom LLC in which he sings and plays guitar.
