Mason Webb’s Instrument No. 2, featured in Order / Reorder, is a kinetic, sculptural still life that merges textile with sound. Over the course of two hours, along with special guests, Webb will perform his symphonic piece in the galleries, discuss his practice, and enable visitors to get a close-up view of the instrument.

For this performance, the artist will be joined by Yusuke Yamamoto on the vibraphone. There will be two 45-minute sets, from 1:30–2:15pm and 2:45–3:30pm, with a 30-minute break, from 2:15–2:45pm, during which the artist will talk with visitors and demonstrate the machine.

Earplugs for noise reduction will be available at the front desk upon request.

Upcoming Demonstrations:
Saturday, December 10 (strings)
Saturday, January 14 (modulated synthesizer with Malcolm Mooney)
Saturday, February 11 (artificial intelligence, solo performance)
