Sound of the Machine: Demo with Mason Webb and Friends

Mason Webb’s Instrument No. 2, featured in Order / Reorder, is a kinetic, sculptural still life that merges textile with sound. Over the course of two hours, along with special guests, Webb will perform his symphonic piece in the galleries, discuss his practice, and enable visitors to get a close-up view of the instrument.

For this performance, the artist will be joined by Daniel Carter, who plays saxophone, trumpet, and flute; Demian Richardson, a trumpeter from the Bronx who’s been active in the New York scene since the 80s; and Ayumi Ishito, a Brooklyn-based saxophonist and composer.
