Virtual Artist Talk: Cynthia Daignault’s Postcards from America

Artist Cynthia Daignault—whose work is on view in Landscape Art & Virtual Travel—traversed the United States, stopping every 27 miles to paint 360 locations. She also painted and wrote postcards of the sites she passed along the way and sent them to collectors, friends, and family. The artist captured 180 scenes over the course of a year, perceiving her work as halfway between painting and a photographic tradition. Daignault will discuss the making of these memories, share the indelible images with us, and read from her written messages in order to inspire participants to create their own keepsakes, which we’ll encourage them to share on social media.
