Explore Ola Rondiak’s Motanka Installation currently on view in Women to the Fore. The motanka is a Ukrainian folk doll made with fabric, ribbon, and thread—and sometimes even tree bark and twigs—that is given to protect a loved one or share well wishes. Create and decorate your own motanka!

Supplies required: fabric remnants, ribbon, thread, and natural materials (optional). Don’t have these at home? Stop by the Museum and ask for an “art packet” at the Front Desk any Thursday through Sunday prior to December 28, 12–5pm, while supplies last. One packet per child, please.
