Celebrate Native American heritage and culture this holiday season and learn about a traditional food of indigenous peoples through a reading of Fry Bread: A Native American Family Story, written by Kevin Noble Maillard and illustrated by Juana Martínez Neal. The author, a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, provides his own recipe for this staple of many native peoples’ diet! Accompanied by a live family craft project: make and decorate your own serving of fry bread out of paper! Recommended age 3+.

Supplies required: construction paper, glue, scissors, and markers.
