The Yes Yonkers! Community Quilt Project will host a pop-up creation station at the Hudson River Museum. This all-inclusive community art project is designed to celebrate Yonkers, family, life, and unity. Each participant is encouraged to create art, write a message, or share positive words on a 10-inch square canvas swatch. No art-making experience required! Followed by a tour of Art & Identity: Highlights from the Collections of the Hudson River Museum and Art Bridges.

Artists Evan Bishop and Katori Walker devised the idea for this project when they considered the history of quilt making and its collaborative process. Awarded a 2018 Yonkers Arts Initiative Individual Artist grant by ArtsWestchester, these panels will be stitched together to create the largest piece of art in Yonkers history. The finished product will be displayed at the Grinton I. Will branch of the Yonkers Public Library by July 2019.
