Fantastic Lunar New Year Festival at the HRM
The HRM was thrilled to celebrate the Year of the Fire Horse at our Lunar New Year Festival on Saturday, February 28. More than 930 people came to experience this wonderful annual event, and we were thrilled to see the Museum filled with so much energy and creativity. From vibrant performances and cultural demonstrations to hands-on origami, calligraphy, and knitting workshops, the day was a joyful celebration of art, culture, and connection. News 12 Westchester even stopped by to experience the festivities! Check out their coverage of the event here.
Special thanks to New York State Assemblymember Nader J. Sayegh who provided support to make this day possible. And, our heartfelt thanks goes to our community partners, the OCA Asian Pacific American Advocates, Westchester and Hudson Valley Chapter, and the Greenburgh Evergreen Club, a Chinese senior organization based at the Theodore Young Community Center, and all of the amazing performers—from the energetic lion dance and K-pop dancers to Chinese folk dance, Indonesian gamelan, and more.
We’re grateful to everyone who came out to make the festival such a lively and memorable occasion, including Westchester County Board Legislator Shanae Williams, Yonkers Councilwoman Corazon Pineda Isaac, and many HRM Trustees, members, and supporters. Please enjoy a selection of photos from this joyous event celebrating traditional Asian arts and culture.
