Past and Present HRM Junior Docents Come Together
At the opening for Rivers Flow / Artists Connect and Embrace: Cinematic Moments by James Seward, our current HRM Junior Docents had the opportunity to meet a number of our exceptional Junior Docent alumni.
Junior Docent alumni included Pedro Betanzos (Class of 2012), who has been working at the Museum for more than fifteen years and is currently the Manager of Youth and Family Programs. He was joined by award-winning flutist Adam Ray (Class of 2002), who plays for Lehman College Symphony Orchestra and Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra; Brian Dore (Class of 1999), who is currently the Financial Controller at the New Museum of Contemporary Art; and Francis Cruz (Class of 2003), special education assistant principal and disability advocate.
Adam Ray performed at the opening reception and spoke about the deep impact the Program had on him. It was a special opportunity for Junior Docents Alyssa Palackal, Victoria Pinto, Ayesha Ishaq, Amber Prado, and Gillian Walsh (left to right, front row) to speak with the alumni and learn about their personal and professional successes.
A special thanks to all of our sponsors of the Junior Docent Program who make it possible for us to foster the next generation of leaders: Westchester County Youth Bureau; Eugene M. Lang Foundation; Lorraine O’Brien Foundation, Inc.; City of Yonkers, Department of Planning and Development, through a Community Development Block Grant; St. Faith’s House Foundation; County of Westchester; NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester; Henry and Nancy Schacht; and The Underwood Family.
