The New York Korean Performing Arts Center presents a samulnori percussion performance. In Korean, the word samul means “four objects,” and nori means “play.” Samulnori is performed with four traditional musical instruments, each representing an element of nature: kkwaenggwari, a small gong (thunder); jing, a larger gong (wind); janggu, an hourglass-shaped drum (rain); and buk, a barrel drum similar to the bass drum (clouds). Followed by a Q&A with the performers from the NYKPAC youth group.

This program is part of #HRMLunarNewYear.
