Women Make History With First All-Female Space Walk

This morning, two astronauts donned spacesuits and stepped outside the International Space Station to make repairs. While the task was routine, the participants were not; this was the first time both astronauts on a spacewalk were women. Planetarium Manager Marc Taylor reflects on this historic moment.

100 Years of Admiring the Moon

“Between celebrating its 100th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of its newer space that houses its art galleries and workshops, the museum had another milestone worth honoring in mind — the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission that landed humans on the moon for the first time . . . . “A Century of Lunar Photography and Beyond,” [looks] at 61 different images of the moon taken from as early as the 1840s through today.”
